In Loving Remembrance of Mr. L. D. Crowder. A dear and kind friend to God's animals and to Furkids. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Crowder family. We are so grateful to have known L. D. We will always cherish the memories of his visits.
L. D. Crowder, 83, of Atlanta, Ga., died at home on December 12, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy, his daughters Lisa Crowder of John's Creek, Georgia, daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Chip Schuneman and grandchildren Spencer and Leslie Schuneman of Montgomery, Alabama.
Lynn Doyen Crowder was born in Naperville, Illinois on June 16, 1926 to Agnes and T. Doyen Crowder. He grew up in Rushville, Indiana and graduated from Rushville High School. He was drafted during his senior year of high school and served with the Occupation Army in Germany. He attended Earlham College, Miami at Oxford and graduated from Florida Southern College in 1952. He was with Kaiser Aluminum for 30 years and self employed for 10 years thereafter. He was an avid sports fan and spent many a happy day on the tennis court and golfcourse. He was a member of the Elks Club, B.P.O.E. 1307. He loved the Lord and served him by ushering at the church for 30 years until his failing health kept him from this pleasure. He was loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed.
His love of animals made him a strong advocate of animal rescue which he endorsed with all his heart. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to FurKids at 2650 Pleasantdale Road, Suite 8, Atlanta Georgia, 30340.
Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at Shallowford Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. Arrangements by R.T. Patterson Funeral Home. |
