Furkids houses over 400 rescue cats, kittens (and dogs) in our rescue program. Once you have located the rescue animal you would like to adopt (on-line or through a PetSmart adoption center), the first step towards adopting is to fill out an adoption application. Our volunteers work hard to respond to all adoption applications or inquiries within 72 hours. Below are some of the frequently asked questions regarding our adoption policies and procedures.

The adoption fee includes testing, shots and spay/neuter. We will also give you, or mail to you, a copy of the cat’s medical records, which you can give to your vet.

Our Adoption Fees

• $85 for one adult cat (one year of age and older), $150 for two
• $125 for one kitten (under one year of age), $200 for two, $250 for three
• $175 for one adult cat and one kitten
• $42.50 for individuals 62 years of age and older who adopt an adult or senior cat

All animals have complete (up to their current age) medical care, including vaccinations and sterilization. All animals have the following vetting included in their adoption fee:

• Sterilization
• Combo test for cats, heartworm test for dogs
• FVRCP vaccinations
• Rabies vaccination
• Leukemia vaccinations
• Dewormings
• Flea treatment
• Earmite treatment (if needed)
• Any other vetting as needed, such as additional testing, major surgery, etc.
• Ongoing complimentary nail trimmings
• Furkids as a resource for the life of the animal

• Must be at least 21 years of age to apply.
• Your current animals must be up to date on rabies and spayed or neutered.
• We do not offer same day adoptions; adoption applications take up to 72 hours to process.
• Our kittens require an animal companion in the home.
• Be aware that some of our cats and kittens are a part of a bonded pair which can not be separated.
• Applicants are required to sign a binding adoption contract.
